How to evidence CPD to a regulator

Most CPD frameworks don’t ask you to pre-clear your learning; they ask you to evidence it afterwards. The burden is on the professional to show what was done, when, and to what standard.

A defensible record has four parts: the activity, the date, the CPD hours, and the outcome or relevance to your role. A completion certificate that carries the hours and a course description usually satisfies all four.

Keep records for the period your framework specifies — often several years — and store them where you can retrieve them quickly. The goal is that an audit is a five-minute export, not a scramble.
